Fall 2011 Tennis
Potential Tennis Player:
I am glad that you are interested in the sport of tennis. Tennis is an excellent sport that allows for a lifetime of healthy living.
With the end of the 2010-2011 school year closing, it is time to now start thinking about the start of the 2011-2012 school year. Bishop Grimes Girls Tennis is an opportunity for the beginning tennis player or the lifelong tennis player. No matter your age or grade, Bishop Grimes Girls Tennis is something that you can participate in.
It is important that you work in the off-season in order to make yourself a better player.
Some Ideas to better yourself as a tennis player:
Free lessons are offered at local summer parks and recreation
Work on your strength and conditioning everyday
Practice / Play competitively with your friends / teammates at a local park
Paid Lessons through various tennis clubs
It is important that you take improving seriously. You should set goals for yourself as an individual and goals you want to accomplish as team. Every girl that tries out for the tennis team will make the roster. One goal each of you should have is to be on the match roster come match day. The match roster will consist of three singles and four doubles, totaling eleven. Match rosters could change every match. I expect you to be ready to play and work hard at our first practice which will be August 22 at Park Hill Elementary which is located in East Syracuse, New York (303 Roby Ave).
Please try to turn in your paperwork for participation at the fall sports signup that takes place on July 19th in the Bishop Grimes cafeteria. If you cannot attend the signups then please make sure your paperwork is valid and bring it to me on the first day of practice. A common thing that needs to be updated is a student’s physical.
Tennis is a fun and exciting outdoor activity that you will have an opportunity to play for a lifetime. I hope you are looking forward to the fall tennis season as much as I am!
Forms are available: http://www.bishopgrimes.org/athletics/athletic-forms-procedures/
